Make-up you learn!

A great friend of mine gifted me with a Make-up session from Make-up Forever at Sephora in Milan. With spring finally here I thought it was a great day to go and get my make up done and look FAB (I just got bangs so a make-up course came in handy). I had no idea I was actually going to be tested and learn so much…

Turns out they don’t just do your make-up but they actually study your face and teach you how to do it or at least they try! 😉

The very experienced but impatient make-up instructor guides you through the half an hour session and does half of your face step by step. As she does half of for example the foundation and tells you how to apply it, you then need to do the other half of the face so that she can see if you did it right and correct you in case you didn’t (in my case it happened  quite a lot sign!)

What was amazing to me apart from all the products I never thought one could use (I probably use 2 out of 10 products she used) was the amount of brushes she had for each and every step. To be honest I lost track half way but luckily she was kind enough to let us take pictures and also wrote it all down at the end of the session by drawing it in a piece of paper so that I could practice at home and hopefully get the same flawless result on my own.

So was it worth it?? …Definitely!! I asked what I always wanted to ask and will do my best to look that way every day…I will just need 2 to 3 hours each time before I go out!

Needless to say, after the 30 minute course I wanted to buy the whole range of brushes and products they used on me…I restrained myself and  got 1/3 of them… BUT knowing myself I will be back soon to get the rest.

So I definitely would say this is a perfect gift for a girlfriend and I thank my friend Agnese so much for this, only thing try to go there with someone, it’s a lot of fun and fun needs to be shared! 😉

Here are some pics and the list of courses and prices in case any of you wants to check it out. You can’t find this info online so it may be useful to some of you. I will be back to try the Benefit bar, they offer eyebrow shaping and spray tanning. 🙂

New York, New York…

Very exciting news! Last week De’ Mel creations were shown at a Jewelry night in Manhattan together with other brands such as Bolivian Jeweler Rafaella Pitti. It was a great occasion to introduce De’Mel to the New York crowd and show a selection of White, Colorful, Black and Metalic De’ Mel. The main guests of the event were New Yorkers but there was also a very international crowd which made the evening cosmopolitan and multi-cultural… SO New York! Love it! ❤

Here are some pictures of the fabulous evening at a luxurious venue on Upper East Side and the amazing views of the city where from now on De’ Mel will also be available.

Although De’ Mel creations are still not available online, you can e-mail us at demelcreations@gmail.com so we can provide you with information on where to find De’Mel in New York and soon also in other international locations.

Stay tuned for more events where De’ Mel will be present!

Look for looks

Another side of De’ Mel, is the creation of looks inspired from my own closet and hence, the pictures of items from my personal closet mixed with De’ Mel creations. I think this shows how for example De’ Mel earrings can be worn in a very realistic but fancy way and how I interpret the occasion of use. I also use a lot of work of art such as antiques and landscapes. I try to be creative 😉 Check it out under De’ Mel looks, many more looks to come soon!

I want Fluo!

I hope you all got a chance to have a look at my creations. The first round of it involves lace and hand-made crochet. Each pair of earrings is practically unique in the sense that only one or two are made exactly the same. You may get the same color lace with different stones or hardware etc. The aim? Not to look like you just came out of Zara!  and…its affordable! 😉

Don’t’ get me wrong, I love Zara and I am a frequent customer but sometimes I wish we did not all wear the same and unfortunately it happens more often then we think.

Today I want to share with you this pair of Fluo-green Venetian lace earrings. Fluo is so hot this SS13. This pair is medium size and has white agate (semi-precious stone) and silver hardware combined with a matching Fluo-green silk-cashmere shawl ❤Image

My lifestyle business

From the description in the About section I have tried to explain all the different areas that I would like to cover with De’ Mel. I chose to start with my creations, in particular lace and crochet earrings, so that people could see a very eye catching and easy way to accessorize any outfit. I love it!

I come up with new colors and combinations with different stones regularly and you will see mainly new pictures of it all which is, I believe, the best way to show how lace and crochet make accessories look like a piece of art and if combined with the right complements it is really elegant, timeless and cool at the same time!

Important note:  To my friends all over the World I would like to apologize for only writing in English and not in all the other languages I am fluent in and most of all languages that are part of me and my life.  Since 2001, English has been the language that I use most on a daily basis and although all my friends and followers may not understand all that I write, pictures will make it all easier and fun for everyone I hope!

Last but not least, to my English speaking friends: very sorry if I sometimes make mistakes when I write. I am after all not mother tongue! 😉
